The Epiphany Experience is about turning towards the light, to seek what has heart and meaning for us.
Each week I take questions from my Facebook wall to answer here on this page. This week one of my friends asked me what is the meaning of The Epiphany Experience ?
There is the celebration of the Epiphany on Jan 6th as a date to remember the journey of the wise men. They had a dream and vision that inspired them to made this trek. By doing so, they were rewarded with a deeper connection to the Holy Spirit by seeing The Christ Child.
When they saw the Christ child, they had an “Epiphany” or spiritual vision and intuitive understanding of his purity.
Today is the day to celebrate this journey, it encourages us to pursue our own deeper understanding of our connection to the Divine and all beings.
Self Mastery Is About Following What Has Heart & Meaning
Continuing to seek the dark parts of our ego self, and take steps to refine them.
Back then it was a considerable undertaking for the Magi to up and leave their familiar homes and follow this vision and the Star of Bethlehem.
We don’t know what their role was in society, but I think they were astrologists. Magi are known as Magupiti or priests in Persia. At that time, the Priests and Priestess were schooled in the art of the stars. They also were well versed in mathematics.
The word planet is a Greek word for “wandering star” . I think the star was actually a planet, maybe Jupiter. It could only be seen in a very unique circumstance.
Symbolically they undertook a personal journey of awakening. You can think of it as a vision quest. When we go on a vision quest, it is never easy. We have to give up our comfortable known life. Take a high road, not traveled by the masses. From this vantage point we get these little moments and spiritual insights or and Epiphany Experience.
We can use a Labyrinth, meditations, vision quests or a Sun Dance to have our own Epiphany Experience. If we are lucky. This is why I built a labyrinth at my ranch. They are designed to give us a way to take a personal journey inward to the deepest parts of our psyche. Since travel to the far east is dangerous often, we need to find ways to deepen our connection to creation and one another.
May you have A Blessed Epiphany Experience!
