Death is a re-birth into the spirit world

First Question: How long before a loved one in spirit can communicate with us?
The death process is different for every soul. Just like the birth process is. A good rule is 7 hours to 3 days. The death journey is called the Bardo. This is a process of gathering your experiences, reviewing them. Then processing them before you go to the next dimension. Usually after this process the spirit can "make a call" home. Check in on the family and loved ones. This is when you might be aware of them. Some times you will just feel their spirit around you like a gentle hug.
Second Question: After someone passes on do they immediately go to the light?
First they go to a dimension I think of as a holding zone or processing dimension. They are met with caring and compassionate spirits and angels who are experts in helping a soul understand they have passed out of a physical body and what they need to do next. Once they do all their processing they can connect with loved ones and family. Sort of celebrate and catch up with other souls they have met along the way. Then they can go up to dimensions they have earned the right to. Any soul can always travel down the ladder and visit souls on lower levels. But you have to have the clearance to go up.
Third Question: Why did we have to come to earth first?
Planet Earth is a great place to explore the ideas of polarity, duality and experience a physical form. All of us deliberately choose to come here, even in bodies we judge to be less than perfect. There are a lot of powerful lessons we can gather through each and every unique souls adventure through form.
