A Mindset Tweak Is A Perfect Adjustment Tool
You know you need a mindset tweak when you feel stuck in a holding pattern. Some people might call it an attitude adjustment. A good attitude does help, but all the thoughts processes are important too.
Each week I take questions from my Facebook Page, this week Amber wrote: My life and career are moving along really well. I just feel a little ho-hum about things and stuck. How can I shake things up?
It is sad but true that most of our family have taught us to not worry or care if our job is meaningful. As long as we have a job, they teach us that we will be OK.
Too many times our teachers and image makers just teach us to be OK with getting by and surviving life. Not as mention of “Thriving”.
Ho-Hum Happens When You Get Complacent With Life
Quite often in order to really thrive, we have to make some big risks. The risks are not so scary if we engage them with a healthy Mindset!
Over the years I have used several mindset tweaks to help me pass through some big challenges.
One of the mindset tools I use a lot is affirmations. This helps the ego mind/self affirm ideas to help you feel safe and on track with your conscious desires. For instance, you are driving at night out of town and start to feel a panic sort of feeling coming on. A mindset tweak would be to tell your self that “I am safe”, ” my car is running fine”, “I have plenty of fuel”, ” I know where I am going”, “I have a good GPS”.
Another mindset tool you can use is called “scripting”. The idea is to imagine or even speak out loud what you want to unfold. See your self driving along safely, enjoying your music. Envision your self arriving at your destination feeling good and right on time.
You can use Mindset tweaks to help you do well at a new job interview, first date or even a dentist appointment.
My high school gym coach taught me to use hypnosis when I was in 9th grade. She used simple hypnosis suggestions to help our class wind down after a rough basketball session. This helped us focus on our next class.
My first job was as a rodeo cowgirl. There was quite a mindset adjustment for me to be comfortable Standing on a running horse for crying out loud 🙂 I could do all the strap trick that kept you close to the center of the horse, but standing on top was way out of my comfort zone. (Those pictures of me standing on top of a moving horse and doing a Cossack Death Drag at the top of this article are from my Trick Roping days 🙂 )
My teacher told me you have to “Imagine Your Self standing up” Trust Your self!! Then you have to commit and follow through. 🙂
I teach several Mindset tweaks, tips and techniques in my Self Mastery Boot Camp.
Bright Blessings
