Psychic Q & A How to Transform Negative Self Talk
Each week I take a question off the wall of my Facebook page to answer here in this Column,
This week Rachelle R asked: Can we be affected negatively by watching scary, intense or negative TV shows?
From MarVeena: That is a good question and yes you can!
Especially if you are sensitive or wounded emotionally. Watching scary shows can even leave your energy open to psychic attack. For people who have a strong golden web, theycan watch those shows without getting sucked into the drama and won’t be effected.
We have to be very Conscious of how vulnerable our Un Consciousness is!
What is a thought? This can be a difficult question to answer. Is it our inner dialogue? Is it our own critical voice? Is it the images we picture in our minds? Is it the voices we replay of words spoken by others?
We each are unique in how we might answer this question and we may have differing explanations to describe what it means to each of us. However, by asking this question we can bring about an important exercise of exploration. What are our thoughts to us? How can we become more conscious of our consciousness?
In each passing moment, our own conscious thoughts can be affected by both external and internal influences. If we watch TV, our thoughts may be driven, or plugged into, that which we focus our attention. If a television show is particularly interesting, we may literally run that stimuli through our minds, essentially copying those images and sounds into our consciousness in a matter of split seconds. All other thoughts are put to the wayside as our minds are tuned to the television channel in question. An external stimuli, such as television, has the power to envelope our consciousness in a very effective manner. Even after we turn the television off, those images and sounds can continue to replay in our minds, essentially stored for us to revisit at our choosing. The creations of external media have proven to be an effective device with which to affect the human consciousness.
This illustrates an important point that has an equal influence upon us. Just as external stimuli can control our consciousness, our own internal stimuli can affect our conscious thoughts in any moment. Within our own minds exist a constant stream of media. Images, sounds, and dialogue within our own internal media devices play out continually throughout our daily lives. Past memories, desires of the future, creative imaginings, self-talk of both a positive and negative manner are but a few examples of what might be running through our minds in any moment.
Just like when we turn off a television, we can turn off those media devices that play in our minds. We may shut things off in our consciousness, however, just like television, they still remain, just waiting to be turned on again. Being aware of this can help us to understand our own conscious nature. Everything we experience through our physical senses and our mental faculties bring about our present moment news ticker, so to speak. That stream of media that flows across our internal field of view, much like a television, can be manipulated. Just as there are many functions to a television, including the channels and selections of input it receives, our minds as well contain the ability for us to vary it’s input and programming of our own choosing.
We are more in control than we may realize. Just as there is a learning curve for controlling our sophisticated media devices of our times, there is an equal challenge to learning our own about our own consciousness. This is an important phase of self mastery. When we are bored, we may watch TV, read a book, or go for a walk. Our choice in external preoccupation is quite effective in passing the time and filling in that filmstrip that steams in our minds as time passes. However, what we can also do is replicate this choice in stimuli in a completely internal manner. This is one way we can become more conscious of our consciousness.
Instead of changing our conscious focus through focusing our attention onto external stimuli, we can achieve the same effect by changing our own internal channels and input choices. We all want to experience happiness and joy, however we may believe that memories of past experiences are what produces and supplies that happiness and joy. This is partially true in the sense that happy memories can be replayed, however, they always come from an experience of the past.
What about the right now in your mind? You can easily turn on a television and experience something you never have in this very second, this now moment. If we can do that so easily with an external stimuli like television, why can’t we do that internally as well? The answer is that we all can. However, we may ask ourselves how?
The answer is simple. Tune your internal channel to creative imagination. It is a channel that exists in everyone’s consciousness. Some have better reception that others, however, we all have an internal antenna that can be manipulated to tune into these creative frequencies. Just as one must learn to use their television, we all must learn to tune ourselves, essentially our consciousness, to the channel that we desire.
External stimuli choices of our physical experience are always available to preoccupy our consciousness. However, there exists internally a prepaid programming subscription available to all of us. It is the creative consciousness called the Divine. We are all spiritual beings having a physical experience. The illusion is that our only choice is of the physical. Internally through divine channels we have an unlimited supply of now moments just waiting to be tuned into. This is a truth we all can learn to master for ourselves. Within those divine channels exists joy greater than any physical means. Being able to tune into these creative divine channels and express those joyous now moments experienced within this physical realm is a gift available to us all.
I have a few ideas that may help anyone in their own internal search for spiritual tuning with the divine channels available to us all…..If you would like to explore kicking things up a notch or two, check out my self mastery boot camp program! 🙂
