Did you know some attachments can hold you in un-healthy, life-threatening patterns?
As I’m writing this, I have a particular friend in mind. She is in NYC, and used to live a real go-go-go kind of life. She flew me up there for readings one time and I got a sneak peak her fast paced NYC lifestyle.
It was very glamorous, she has a beautiful apartment with a breath taking view. Her clothes were all in season, in style and very chic. There was a doorman to building who actually walked her dog some times 🙂 She went from one cool city event to another.
Then she found out she had cancer! BAM!!! Talk about a kick in the face.
I suggested what I always do: Meditation to start with, and in this case a full immersion strategy!
Since she thought she was dying, and doing the whole chemo route went against her instincts, she thought she might as well do what I suggested!
She went on a leave of absence with her job, because she knew that it was adding to her stress.
All of her former life fell by the way. Instead of running from meeting to meeting, rushing all the time to eat, get her self ready for the work world and have a social life.
She let it all go.
All of her energy went into her meditation. I think she really felt she was doomed to die young, but she really put the effort into a spiritual practice that focused on special meditations. It started to pay off immediately. She begin to fell at peace at the prospect of dying.
She no longer felt she needed to fight to stay alive.
Since she wasn’t working, and she thought she was dying, she sold her apartment and got a super cheap place outside of the city.
The pace of life wasn’t running at break neck speed. People looked her in the eye on the streets and acknowledged her.
She quit worrying and stressing about preparing a fat retirement plan.
She begin to eat more simple foods and to really savor what she did eat. Simple things in life have new meaning when you think you have limited time to enjoy them.
Every morning she watched the sun rise and let her self soak up the vibrant rays with gratitude. Yoga helped her to be more mindful, as well as helped activate and energize her weakened chakras. Now they began to respond, and as they were re-balanced through the yoga/meditation/sun charging, they began to bring life support to her internal organs.
Meditation turned out to be her salvation!
By dedicating her self to a daily immersion into a spiritual program she found a sense of peace and much better balance and health. After a year she was found to be cancer free. She wasn’t surprised but her doctors were! She just felt different, wholeness feels a certain way.

I found it interesting how you mentioned how daily spiritual practices can help you achieve peace with yourself and can reduce the stress of life weighing down on you. My wife and I are in the process of moving across the country and she feels bad that she didn’t make more bonds with friends before it was too late. Because I want to make sure she feels comforted knowing that her energy passed on to more people than she knows, I will keep this in mind as we search for a spiritual life coach who can teach her important practices to maintain positive energy!
