Today I am working on my Sugar Skulls for my tea party tomorrow.
The symbol of a skull is revered for several reasons in many different mystery school paths.
In the Sweet Medicine Path one of the main reasons it holds significance is that it is thought to hold the life experience and wisdom gained from every life time that soul had been a part of.
That can be hundreds of lives in many different cultures and circumstances.
This is one reason that some tribes participated in the barbaric tradition of head hunting. They believed they could gain access to that persons power, magic and knowledge by having possession of their head. They are wrong, we all take our knowledge with us when we pull out of the body and move into the light.
That is where we assimilate our last incarnation and compare it to other lives. We synthesize all of those together. Our highest guides help us figure out what we can do to add to this.
Quite often people decorate and wear skulls because they like the look. I wear them and collect images as a way of acknowledging the process of life, death and re-birth and how we make a gain forward on our soul path through that process.
Celebrating The Day of The Dead is also a way to pay respect to loved ones who passed this last year. We make sugar skulls and symbolically decorate them to represent one of our loved ones in spirit.
It is a show of respect and also a little bit of fear built into this display, making sure that our deceased loved ones know we remember them so they won’t come back to “haunt us”. This is what a lot people believe any way.
I love this time of year for a lot of reasons but one of them is the veil between this world and the spirit world is very thin. I see a lot more spirits, spirit lights and Angels. I also have a lot more cool visions this time of year.
It would be great if we all could be more objective and at peace with when and how other souls decide to come and go from a physical form. That is why I offer special events this time of year like my Tea & Tarot Party, my Tele~Seance and my All Hallow’s Eve Seance.
It is just fun! My spirit guides taught me that the Angels weep when a child is born in a physical form and they rejoice when they die and come back into the spirit world. I had a hard time accepting that, because after all I am really immersed in the physical 🙂 But the Angels know the hard ships and challenges that await them.
This is where the Tarot comes in handy, by exploring the cards we can see some of the lessons the Universe is trying to get us to see. Once we get the lessons, the challenge moves away and we can move on!
If you would like to join me in one of my events see my front page on my web site. I would love to have you join in!! If you can’t make these dates we can arrange a private reading and have our own special “Day of the Dead” event. Email me if you have questions .
