Getting Back To Basics
Here we are, existing in a new year. Much has happened and we all have experienced life in many ways in the passing year. As the season sits in rest, we too may find ourselves in hibernation as to what to do with ourselves. As we collect our will to do more to strive again in our own spiritual nature, we can be reminded of the basics that keep us going every day.
Just as the air we breathe, and the food we eat, what we do for our soul’s journey on a regular basis is what drives its growth, its expansion. It is these basic tools and practices that allows us to bring more of ourselves into oneness with the divine that provides for us every day. Let’s simply revisit them and empower ourselves anew.
Silence is good medicine.
Within a clear, quiet moment, we all can find clarity in that time spent. It doesn’t have to be anything spectacular, it can even be a moment to reflect on what we are happy for. Finding the time to hear what our minds are chattering about and what our souls are suggesting is good practice in guiding ourselves towards peace. Pick a time every day, or multiple times throughout the day, to get in tune to what we and the divine are saying to and about ourselves. Just finding a quiet space, even for a moment, is good for the soul.
Identify what we need to work on.
In those moments of reflection, we can become more aware of what our own limitations are. If we are angry about past hurts, or unhappy about a current situation, we can use that clarity to get a plan of action going. If we are not able to make sense of our own complexities, we can consider getting outside help. Spiritual guidance comes in many forms, both internal and external.
Having the strength to not only identify those issues that need resolution, but also take action, either alone or with help, is a matter of great self-love. We should not underestimate what it is that we can accomplish for ourselves.
Pick a time to meditate every day.
There are many ways to meditate. There is guided meditation, there is instructional meditation, there is meditation through breathing. Meditation can be silent or it can be filled with sound. It can be filled with visualization or it can be aimed at quieting the mind. Whatever methods we choose, meditation is a good exercise to connect with our divine nature. We should be reminded to start a daily meditation practice to bring peace, calm, and divine guidance into our lives.
Read a spiritual book.
Reading is another form of meditation. While reading we are actually helping ourselves to bring in ideas and thoughts that help us better hit that bulls-eye we strive for with our relationship with the divine. As we bring those words into our minds, and thus into our spiritual bodies, we can quite literally attune ourselves to the vibration of the message being delivered. Just as a joke we read lightens our hearts with laughter, so too does a divine message bring our hearts more into alignment with the God and Goddess energies surrounding us.
Utilize mantras and affirmations often.
Whether spoken out loud or said within, mantras and affirmations, just like prayers, can bring with them in a simple sound, word, phrase, or collections of phrases the power to change our hearts and minds in an instant. A belief about oneself comes with practice. If we harbor negative beliefs about ourselves, just as they were learned, we can provide for ourselves the antidote. Simply uttering the opposite positive belief will bring about lasting changes with practice. If you want proof, tell someone you love them and watch their face light up. Do that for yourself and there are no limitations to what you can do or overcome.
Remember some simple truths.
Love is the most powerful force in the universe. Practicing unconditional love is another bulls-eye to aim for. As we bring in more unconditional love into our lives through our own divine will power, we begin to see with wisdom all that surrounds us. Forgiveness, patience, allowing, letting go, peace, love for others, and great self-love are a consequence of following this simple divine formula. Not all consequences are negative. Allowing ourselves to reap and share divine consequential rewards is one of the greatest gifts we can give to ourselves and shine onto others.
A new year is now in full swing.
Remembering some simple tools that are available to all of us can bring much peace and happiness into our lives. Once we begin to take ownership of our own lives and make changes for the better for ourselves, we can begin to see all that truly is to be grateful for in this life. Having gratitude, not only for the results we may attain, but also for the instruction that the divine masters of the ages have blessed all of us with, is to honor all that this life contains. Whether through visualization, mantras, affirmations, meditation, or reading, we exist today in a world filled with divine direction if we just show up and try.
The truth is all we gotta do is just step up to the plate where all home runs are hit. Swing away because our own divine audience is most definitely cheering us on!
Bright Blessings,
