I use images on a Vision Board because they are a continual visual reminder of my goals. I add to them and update often, this is a way to constantly breathe life into them. This makes them more magnetic and appealing.
Think about your goals for each of the areas of your life. Your physical goals, emotional, mental and spiritual goals.
Use a vision board to generate enthusiasm, motivation and ideas for what you want that to look like. Then the idea is to set them up in places of your house and office so you will see them daily.
You have to train your self to look at them and not by them. A lot of us put up notes and then ignore them everyday.
Add Words To Power-Up Your Vision Board
Words have power too! So add some really good quotes or encouragement with your images.
There is a cool show on HGTV called Fixer Upper that does this a lot. Joanna Gains will place inspirational words in main living areas like “Believe” “Breathe” “Laugh” “Love” and she uses entire affirmations too in some of her rooms.
If you can train your self to see those words and take a little action on them everyday you will get the gain out of the idea.
The whole idea of Vision Boards is to keep reminding us of our dreams and goals. Don’t be afraid to dream big. One of my favorite quotes lately is from Ivanka Trump when she talks about her dad telling her “You’re going to be thinking anyway, you might as well think big”. I love this quote and it is so true and powerful.
All too often I see clients come in that have always been taught to settle for less, don’t make waves, don’t get too big for your britches. Use your vision board to gather some thoughts, images and ideas and adjust it as often as you want too.
My husband used to comment any time he saw me drawing a sketch, what am I working this time! Because when I draw and sketch a garden or barn layout, I get busy and start gathering supplies, and help to get it done!
Pinterest Is My High Tech Vision Board
One of my favorite things to do is look around on Pinterest for new pins to add to my boards. These are like high tech vision boards. I love them and get a lot of ideas and inspiration for my ranch on there. I encourage you to use them too. You can create private boards that only you can see. This is a great way to pull together your thoughts and goals in one place and let it serve as a inspiration for you everyday to take some physical action to make those dreams come true. That is one important thing, is we have to make an effort not just on the mental level to imagine it, but also on the physical level to pull it together.
One of the ladies that I follow for business ideas talks about the steps in planning and actualizing your dream in a business sense. She says what are my objectives and who is my partner with that goal. Get them on the same page as you and you can get the visions going on !
