2 of Swords | Tarot Tutorials | Psychic Medium | Marveena Meek | Psychic Training |
The 2 of Swords talks about being in a state were you have peace of mind. You had a choice about some thing and have made up your mind on it and feel good about it.
The handles on the swords look very Scorpio like. This is a sign most associated with transformation. So this choice you made has the ability to transform you.
You see the sign of the moon and the sign of Libra on this card. The Moon sign shows a deep subscious level you have a some peace and feel balanced. Which the Libra sign shows.
Factor in the other two value cards in the Tarot deck. The High Priestess card is a two value. This is to remember to use your intuition and trust your instincts. The 11 card in the Major Arcana is Strength and Lust. This card has a value of two, We all have talents and gifts that when used in the light can conquer our darker nature.
The two of cups, two of disks, and the two of wands can lend some ideas to round out this session.

All Souls Day Altar of the Dead
On all soul's day we create a special ancestor altar.
This is a way to let our loved ones know we remember them and love them still.
Some times it helps with our grieving process. To place a picture, some flowers and a little candle in a special place. Every time we go by it we can remember the good times we had with that person.
The Celts were some of the first people who would create an Ancestor Altar. They were very superstitious people.
They were just worried that the ancestors that had died in the past year would come back and haunt them. Maybe bring their death, illness and bad luck to the living.
So a lot of times the people would create little Ancestor Altars as a way to appease their ancestors and to symbolically feed them.
They would even create bonfires and light candles to feed the spirits to make them happy and then send them back to the spirit world.
The Ancestor Altar back then might have an item that the ancestor had left behind like tools or clothes. They would place it on a table and decorate around it with the bounty of the harvest such as apples and squash and nuts, things that they had harvested.
Sometimes they would create a dish that the ancestor loved, such as an apple pie.
They might set that on the altar by their memento as an offering to that loved one so that that loved one wouldn't haunt them or maybe so whatever bad luck that had caused them to die wouldn't rub off on the living.
They also set this altar up as a way to offer the Divine, the God's and the Goddesses, and as a way of showing thanks for the bounty that they had taken in over the harvest season and as king of a plea for them to help them make it through the winter.
As we got more knowledgeable and photography came into being, people started setting up their ancestor altars with photographs of loved ones that are in the spirit world. They might even include pictures of animal spirits.
I have my ancestor altar behind me with pictures of family, special pets that have crossed over, some of my horses, some of the fiesta items from Mexico's Day of the Dead that some of my clients had gifted me with and I think they are a fun way to decorate the Ancestor Altar.
The skull is a symbol of wisdom and a symbol of gaining wisdom every time we reincarnate. That is one of the reasons that you see the skulls out on my altar. In Mexico they have a lot of traditions with decorating their Ancestor Altars.
They might make an individual altar for different family members and sometimes they will even create and Ancestor Altar at the grave and they will decorate it with light and especially Marigolds, different things that the ancestor liked to eat and drink, pictures and candles.
They kind of like to have a fiesta there at the graveside. There are various traditions for Halloween all over the world and they all contribute to the holiday, but this is my way of creating an Ancestor Altar and a way of honoring those spirits who have gone on before us and remembering some of the lessons that they helped us to learn and to keep their memory alive.
I hope you have enjoyed my article today. And, I would love to see your own altar of the dead. So take a picture or a short video and you can link it to this one on YouTube or you can send it to me in an email or on Facebook. I would like to see how you honor your ancestors this time of year!

Nine of Swords
Today we are going to continue with our Tarot Tutorials and specifically I am going to talk about the 9 of Swords. The swords all talk about different ways of processing thought, and in the Nine of Swords you have all these swords pointing to the ground and you have blood there. Behind the swords, that is a reflection of our spirit.
This is a time when you have really been sabotaging yourself and you are down on yourself. You are playing over and over thoughts in your mind like, "I should have done this; I could have done that; why didn't they do this?" – all of those pain tapes. It's like you keep wounding yourself and your spirit is bleeding because of the way that you have been wounding yourself. The way that I was taught is that you have put yourself into this situation in one way or another and it's only you that can pull yourself out of the situation.
I think it would be really useful to find some different processes to change your mental self-talk. Some Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) would be wonderful. A really neat book that I have on my website store is "Every Word Has Power" by Yvonne Oswald. It's an awesome little book. (You can purchase it through my website at www.marveena.com.)
You can also look at self-hypnosis opportunities. Hypnosis is a great way to help you change the way you run your thought patterns. We have choices to make all the time. We can choose to be sad or angry about something. This card is showing that you are making a choice to put yourself into this state of mind, and now you have to make a choice to pull yourself out of it. It's possible, but you have to make up your mind to move forward.
You can use the other 9 cards in the tarot deck to help you. Ones that will be really useful are the Hermit and the Moon cards, as the other 9 value cards. All of them, if you study them, and meditate on them, will just give you different ideas to help you recognize how you put yourself into this state of mind and different ways that you can make choices to move out of this state of mind. This card is about self-cruelty and we want to be our own best friend rather than be our own worst enemy.
The astrological influences and the planetary influences here are Mars and Gemini. Mars is a very action oriented planet and it can have a very aggressive energy so if you are on a pity party then the Mars energy can really drive it home and you don't want that. The Gemini energy helps us to go back and forth "Should I do this or should I do that?" and this energy can really make things happen fast but on the flip side is that once we start to pull ourselves out of this funk then that energy can help us to find a more fortunate expression.
I hope you have enjoyed this article today on the tarot. This is just a little bit of an explanation and some of the possible interpretations of this card. If you would like to have the meanings of the reversal, because if this card is upside down it has a different twist, you can look at my other articles on my blog. I also have free audio articles on iTunes.
I hope that you have a powerful day!
