One of my influential teachers is half Japanese.
She taught a great lesson on creating spiritual sanctuaries to help us plan and prepare for change.
The Japanese Teahouse is known as a spiritual sanctuaries and the ceremony of tea is known as a moving meditation.
The Four principals presented in the Way of Tea are respect, harmony, purity and tranquility.
These are the highest ideas of the Way of Tea.
So when you go into a tea house and participate in the tea ceremony, you rid your self of any outside chatter going on in your head.
This is the time to consciously step into the ideas of the four principals.
As you prepare the bowl of tea you get into the rhythm of nature, the gentleness of spirit and the ideas of innocence and purity.
The bowl and water represent the feminine and the idea of the womb space holding your dreams that we want to get going here in this dimension.
The fire is the masculine activation, the spark and yang energy to take action on our ideas,
While drinking the tea you ponder each of the principals, and use this time to dream awake your goals.
It is like a daily meditation and time to re-group and re-align your ego and soul to get back on purpose with your souls path.
Try creating a special tea ceremony meditation for your self to day.
Have a special place that looks pretty or inspirational for you.
Be mindful while you prepare your tea.
Contemplate the ideals of the "Way of Tea" as you sip.

I find it interesting that every group or nationality of people has seen the need to find a way or ceremony to meditate and get in touch with their Spirit.

I loved this blog. It was a great reminder to slow down, take time to be thankful and just be in the moment. I needed to hear this today. Spirit always has perfevt timing. Have a great day.
Tea is something I really need to get involved in Thank you!
Great article MarVeena!!
Saw your video with Bob Robertson. I loved your gentle, innocent spirit. I have been reading your posts since then. I keep trying to find the meditation that works for me. Perhaps the tea one will work. First, I seriously need to tell my mind to "shut up!"
Most people drink tea or coffee in the morning as part of a daily routine, what a cool way to to integrate that with meditation and intention I’m definitely going to. Thanks Marveena your tips help me everyday!
Thank you for sharing ! I been planning that place and that moment for about 2 moths … And i been thinking about the time that we spent for our spiritual growth…..I know there is a way to free myself from the daily chores and the work place that keeps me away from the time that i need to become what i was sent to be….. I just wait for the right moment …
I hope I’m #5, lol. This is a good read. Definitely going to add the principals to my tea making.
What a great way to focus yourself away from distractions.
I feel by sipping on the tea slowly, we inject the ideals of respect, harmony, tranquility, and purity. We take the time and contemplation to prepare the tea, now we are drinking the principals in a very physical manner.
I had a vision of a Japanese garden for my backyard, but it was missing something…now I know what it was. Thank you!
This is the perfect article for me today! Just this morning I made a cup of tea and only had one sip yet noticed that it had served it’s purpose ( in this case to stop a craving). I liked the idea of the tea ceremony as I am trying to be more in the moment. Thanks
What a lovely idea… we are often too much in a hurry to enjoy the simple things in life. This is a reminder that any activity can be pleasurable if we allow it! thank you
