Psychic Development TipThe Book of Wisdom Tarot CardsThe Prince of Swords by MarVeena Meek
Today we are going to continue our exploration of the minor arcana. We are currently in the suit of the swords and swords are all about the mental world. The specific card we are looking at today is the Princess of Swords. She represents the element of earth within the element of air. It's sort of the idea of dealing with the mental world in a tangible way and being able to bring the ideas that are rolling around in your head down into this dimension to manifest your ideas and dreams.
When you look at this card, you see the figure of the female on the throne and she is holding her sword in her hand. There is a lot of grey in the background and at the bottom and she has butterfly wings and a green robe on. I look at the green robe as a way of indicating springtime, ideas are rolling around, it's a fertile time, and a fruitful time. The wings a way of expressing the transformation of ideas. All of the grey in the background is about a kind of moodiness. She also has her sword there, so she is determined to not give in to her own moodiness, maybe the moods of other people, or maybe a little bit of depression. She is trying to cut away the things that frustrate her, the moodiness, and the ups and downs.
She's got the pedestal there too, and this can represent a time when you don't feel people are respecting you. This could also be about someone else in your life that doesn't feel they are being respected. A plan of action could be to show a little more respect. If you feel it is you that needs to be more honest and respected then you have to stand up for that yourself and demand that people be respectful of you and your path and your ideas and your dreams.
So this card is talking about a practical time, a commitment to excellence, a commitment to getting things done, and to getting your ideas grounded in a tangible way. This is an air sign card so you are looking at especially air sign months for a time of being able to take action and get a lot done, even in your mind about how you are going to make progress and what that would look like. The months that you do that would be in the libra, gemini, and aquarian months. Those would be particularly good energy times to daydream, to journal, to do some planning, or some traveling to help you make some progress and figure out how to go from where you are to where you want to be. This card also could be about other women in your life, maybe a younger woman, that could help you to take action on some of the things that you are wanting to get done.
This is a short interpretation of this card. There are more articles on the tarot, and the reversals, available on my blog and my iTunes account which you can access on the side of this page. You can also access both of these via www.marveena.com.
